Extensive refurbishment and new interior design is currently underway at Matakauri Lodge, under the guidance of a highly-acclaimed team:
Interior Design
Stunning new interiors will be unveiled within Matakauri Lodge, thanks to celebrated New Zealand Designer Virginia Fisher.
Expect a crisp, clean aesthetic, bathed in natural light. Both the main lodge and guest accommodations will toast a contemporary casual style, with touches of glamour. An emphasis on natural materials, complemented by warm colours and textures, will reflect the beautiful alpine environment that is Queenstown.
Virginia also promises large bay windows and other special areas in which to 'curl up' and take in the views of Lake Wakatipu and the dramatic mountain ranges.
Architectural Design
Lawrence Sumich - Director of the award-winning Sumich Architects - and his colleague Blair Green, have planned a luxurious and sophisticated living environment that befits this luxury lodge and makes the utmost of its magnificent location. A practise of outstanding note, Sumich Architects also created the Owner's Cottage at our sister property,
The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs.
Landscape Design
Landscape Designer Jeff Pickles has been involved in high-end, creative landscaping in New Zealand and Australia for over two decades. After creating superb outdoor spaces at sister property The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, Jeff was the natural choice to design a private paradise here at Matakauri Lodge.
